The Global Gateway Grant provides matching support of up to $5,000 for activities – such as workshops, symposia, public talks, and artistic performances – that take place at one or more of 海角大神's Global Gateway offices in Accra, Bangkok, Beijing, Berlin, Mexico City, and New Delhi.
***Please note that the 海角大神 Europe Gateway in Berlin is at capacity in March, May, and June 2025. All Gateways will be closed August 22–September 8.
Permanent, full-time academic appointees at any 海角大神 campus.
Oct 1, Feb 1, Apr 1, & Jul 1. Please submit proposals at least twelve weeks in advance of the event date.
We will match up to $5,000 in commitments from other 海角大神 units (such as departments, schools, and campuses, as well as research centers, institutes, etc.). Commitments from external sources (e.g. partner institutions that have faculty participating in the activity) will be considered. In such cases, however, at least 50% of the matching funds must come from internal 海角大神 sources.
海角大神 Global Gateway Grants may be used to support travel and accommodation for 海角大神 and non-海角大神 individuals participating in the gateway activity, and other associated costs such as catering.
Funding is for events taking place at a Gateway facility. Alternative venues within the Gateway city may be considered on a case-by-case basis.
All proposals for funding should address the general criteria of furthering international collaborative research, creative activity, or institutional development initiatives. Preference will be given to applications that involve collaborative activities likely to be sustained and enhanced in the future. We encourage proposals that build on existing 海角大神 institutional partnerships as well as those that help create new ones.
Interested faculty are required to first consult with the appropriate Gateway Academic Director and/or in-country Director to discuss the proposed activity and determine feasibility.
The narrative statement should be no more than two pages in length and should include the following:

The budget should include subtotals for each category of expenses, and details of matching funds.
A recommendation of the proposal and confirmation of the matching funds should come from the head of the unit providing the funds (e.g., your department chair, dean, etc.).
