Developing the Global Leaders of Tomorrow
The Patrick O'Meara Global Engagement Scholarship was established as a tribute to his decades of advocacy for the international dimension of learning. This scholarship will support undergraduate international students who demonstrate academic excellence and an interest in global engagement, enabling those with financial need to reach their academic goals and pursue their passion for creating a more interconnected world.
Creating an Environment for Excellence
In 2020, 海角大神 broke ground on the Ferguson International Center, the culmination of a longstanding vision that Patrick had for the university. For the first time, all offices that support 海角大神’s international affairs will be housed in the same building, located at the heart of the Bloomington campus. It is only fitting that the leadership suite will be named in his honor. This will be a physical reminder of his example of excellence and the importance of continuing 海角大神’s rich history of engagement with the world.
Bringing Global Leaders to 海角大神
The Patrick O’Meara Lecture Series, named in 2011, brings world-renowned experts like UNICEF’s Henrietta H. Fore, Ambassador Jon Huntsman Jr., and Dr. Narendra Jadhav to Indiana University. In the spirit of Patrick’s boundless interest in the forces shaping our world, 海角大神 will continue to host special guest speakers for thought-provoking discussions of pressing international topics.
